I recently completed a bucket list fall ride in the north GA mountains to the TWO Wheels of Suches Motorcycle Campground and Lodge in Suches, GA. I took 9/19/60N out of Dahlonega, GA. I enjoyed winding and twisting my way up the 15 miles to Suches, GA to the TWO Wheels of Suches Motorcycle Campground and Lodge located on the Left.
As soon as I pulled into the parking lot, I felt spiritually connected to GA motorcycle history. TWO Wheels has a long porch with ample seating including rocking chairs to sit and fellowship with other motorcycle enthusiasts. A calm soothing picturesque stream runs alongside of TWO with a pedestrian bridge that crosses over to the campground.
The dining room includes a gift shop to purchase souvenirs. I skipped grabbing a bite to eat but based on reviews, the lodge offers some good food. The burgers and barbecue brisket are highly recommended. The restaurant is open for riding season March – November.
TWO Wheels of Suches is amid 73 miles of scenic curves fondly named the Six Gap North Georgia:
- Wolf Pen Gap aka The Wolf – one of the most challenging in the southeast
- Woody Gap
- Neel’s Gap
- Jack’s Gap
- UNICOI Gap
- Hop Pen Gap
I got a late start on a Saturday and couldn’t explore the Loop of Suches aka GA’s Dragon. However, I plan to return and ride the GA Dragon over 2-3 days. Riders can either camp, get a cabin, or a lodge room (limited availability) at TWO Wheels Campground and Lodge. There is a minimum two-night stay for weekends for Lodge and Cabin. I look forward to sharing future trips to Suches, GA and my explorations of the Six Gap in north GA.
